Comfort Keepers Presents Our Senior Home Care Caregiver Of The Month
The loving nature of our senior home caregivers is the heart of Comfort Keepers of Federal Way, WA
Our caregiver team is our most valuable asset. Those individuals who go out of their way to help seniors increase independence and lead happier, more fulfilled lives are the life force of our company. Every month, we choose a Caregiver of the Month from our outstanding senior home care staff of loving, dedicated caregivers. We like to honor those who are reliable, trustworthy, punctual, and, most of all, caring. They are those who go above and beyond for their clients and who truly have a heart for caring for others.
No matter what their specialty may be, these senior home care experts have given life to the Comfort Keepers ideal of interactive caregiving – they have transformed caregiving into an experience of hope for everyone involved. These men and women are true Comfort Keepers and we thank them for their continued dedication. We love that our caregivers are always willing to go an extra mile to put a smile on the face of their clients.
Our Caregiver of the Month for October is one of most reliable, hardworking caregivers: Lucy Kamau. Her loving, professional care of her client makes her stand out among her peers. A native of Kenya, Lucy owned her own business as a supplier back in her home country and has traveled as far as Dubai for that business. Although sad to leave behind her son, who is at a university studying law, Lucy is thankful for the opportunity here in America. We are thankful for her putting her skills to use for us as October’s Caregiver of the Month!
Lucy loves discovering new things, and spends her free time exploring and walking around the area, learning more and more about her new home. She enjoys travel as well, and has gone as far as Boston in her time in the States. She likes caregiving because it gives her a way to express her caring nature; it is something that comes naturally to her. When she lived in Kenya, she was part of founding an organization that provided medical resources for seniors who live in nursing homes. While she was part of the leadership team, the membership grew from 4 people to over 200.
Her success at caregiving is what she is most proud of; her ability to focus on whatever is put in front of her and being comfortable no matter where she is in life is a quality that is unique to her. Lucy’s lifelong dream is already being realized—to enjoy exactly where she is in life. Her friends would describe her as hardworking, caring and honest; all traits that we have seen her use in her time spent as a caregiver for Comfort Keepers.
The tools Lucy recommends to other caregivers are: do the best you can, not for others but to keep your own principles, and to do each job to the best of your ability. She has been most impacted by the fact she feels like she can come and talk to the office staff whenever she has a question or if there is an issue with her client and we help work through it with her. We are grateful she feels like she can come talk to us and are proud to call her October’s Caregiver of the Month!
