Comfort Keepers Presents Our Senior Home Care Caregiver Of The Month
The loving nature of our senior home care is the heart of Comfort Keepers of Federal Way, WA
Our caregiver team is our most valuable asset. Those individuals who go out of their way to help seniors increase independence and lead happier, more fulfilled lives are the life force of our company. Every month, we choose a Caregiver of the Month from our outstanding senior home care staff of loving, dedicated caregivers of Federal Way, WA. We like to honor those who are reliable, trustworthy, punctual, and, most of all, caring. They are those who go above and beyond for their clients while providing exceptional senior home care service.
No matter what their specialty may be, these senior home care experts have given life to the Comfort Keepers ideal of interactive caregiving – they have transformed caregiving into an experience of hope for everyone involved. These men and women are true Comfort Keepers and we thank them for their continued dedication. We love that our caregivers are always willing to go an extra mile to put a smile on the face of their clients.
Some of the traits we look for in a caregiver at Comfort Keepers are empathy and compassion—and our Caregiver of the Month for December, Jodi S., has both of these in droves. Jodi is a Washington native, although she grew up in the Spokane area. After spending many years visiting her grandmother in Renton, she fell in love with the western side of the state and moved over when she was 19. Among her many other talents, Jodi is also a licensed beautician. And she doesn’t just make the outward beautiful; her warm personality and obvious care for others brings beauty into their lives, no matter their age or circumstance.
Jodi loves spending time with her 3-year-old granddaughter, staying active by walking—especially by the ocean—and having quiet time reading. She finds peace in spending time by herself, seeking calm through solitude. Jodi is most proud of the accomplishment of raising 3 daughters (ages 27, 25, and 21). Her experiences have given her the ability both to understand the complexities of different life phases and to have empathy and compassion for others. She has true insight into people’s lives because of how much she has gone through in her own.
Jodi’s three interesting facts about herself are that she is extremely organized, she loves the Hawaiian islands, and while she is a city girl on the outside, she is a country girl at heart! Her last adventure was a trip to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, where she visited with her parents (who are adventurers, too! At 81 and 75, they have traveled to Africa, Peru and China).
Jodi’s life has been shaped by her relationship with her mom, which affected how she raised her daughters and gave her the knowledge of the importance of meeting people where they’re at in life. She has neighbors and friends she loves dearly and who love her back because she is someone who joins others in their life journey without judgment. If she is remembered for anything, Jodi would like it to be for being open and available, happy, giving, loving, and being someone that others feel comfortable with. One of her favorite sayings is, “You were created to make someone else’s life better. Somebody needs what you have—your smile, your love, your words, and your encouragement.”
Her friends think of her when they see fun, girly things—anything sparkly or with heels fits Jodi to a T! Jodi likes working with Comfort Keepers for the satisfaction of working with her clients, making their day better by helping with the little things. Her experience working with seniors has given her a different perspective on her own parents’ aging process, which gives her a greater sense of peace as many changes approach in their lives. We are thankful for such wonderful care she provides to our clients and are very thankful to have Jodi as December’s Caregiver of the Month!
